Kms today 525
We had another hearty breakfast courtesy of Pat. Bill had eaten early because he had to load up a couple of horses for him and Jim to try and catch and transport an injured calf.

We rode down Hwy 22 which skirted the west side of the Kanaskis Mts and gave us great views. We were heading for the World Heritage site at Heads Smashed In Buffalo Jump. Morag
and I visited it in 2007. It has a great display of how the Indians
drove Buffalo over a cliff in the days they didn't have horses or guns.

Then we headed down to the US border at Chief Mountain and into Montana. We were going to stay at East Glacier village and explore the Glacier N P.

We arrived at the Sears Motel and found something from the 1930's. Our cabin had one double power point and you had to sit on the toilet to use the sink. It was however run by the redoubtable Judy who came to our aid when we needed her. She was booked up all summer so why change?

We walked past the railway station to a Mexican restaurant which served very good local beer too. The railway is very important for Glacier as it brings a lot of tourists to the big expensive signature hotels like the East Glacier Lodge just across the road.
