18th July 2016 - Jumping Pound AB - Kms to date: 5288

Kms today: 0

Today I went to Calgary to get a new back tyre fitted at Blackfoot Motosport. I needed to take the wheel off myself as they didn't have any workbench space. Bill lent me a ratchet wrench and Blackfoot Motosport lent me the Torqx tool for the wheel bolts. I thought I was going to have to wait a long time for them to change the tyre but it only took 20 minutes so I was on my way in double quick time. The weather was beautiful and sunny, a big change from yesterday. I got back to Jumping Pound about 12.30pm to help Pat and Colin setup for the BBQ her and Bill were putting on in our honour.
Bill wields the BBQ tongs.

They had invited Joan Cvitkovich, Val her daughter, her son TJ, Jim Bateman (Bills brother ) and his wife Gail. Kick off was 4pm but about 3.30pm a huge hailstorm dumped hailstones the size of marbles on the house so we brought everything indoors and setup in the basement. Because of the storm the guests did not arrive until 5pm.
Thunder and Hail on the way.

The hail had damaged TJ's car putting dimples all over the roof. In spite of the inclement weather we all had a great time telling tall tales and true until late in the evening. Pat and Bill put on a great spread and as usual Colin and I ate too much.
No family likeness between Jim Bateman and Alan.

TJ with his grandmother Joan (left) and mother Val.
Clockwise: Pat, Alan, Joan, Gayle, TJ, Val, Bill and Jim.
